  14. The MacApp Developers Association is carrying the new book "Elements of C++
  15. Macintosh Programming," by Dan Weston, edited by Scott Knaster.  This is the
  16. second book in Addison-Wesley Publishing's "Macintosh Inside Out" series.  The
  17. first book, "Programming with MacApp," also available through the Association,
  18. has been a run-away seller since its introduction in April.
  19.  
  20. "Elements of C++ Macintosh Programming" provides a good introduction to the
  21. basics of object-oriented programming and C++.  It shows how to write C++
  22. programs for the Mac, using the Mac system software and Toolbox, with complete
  23. working programs that illustrate topics covered.  In addition, the book
  24. demonstrates the use of the MacApp class library with C++.  Appendices include
  25. additional information on MPW and THINK C 4.0.  250 pages.

  27. The book is available at many larger book stores.  But, if you don't have a
  28. book store near you that carries the book, or if you just want to save the
  29. time, you may order it via mail order from the Association.  MADA members can
  30. purchase this book for 20% OFF the cover price, though this savings will be
  31. totally offset by the shipping and handling charges (sorry--that's what happens
  32. with a product priced this low).
